October 27, 2010 (FRANKLIN PARK, IL)—As Catholics await the implementation of the new English translation of the Roman Missal on November 27, 2011, World Library Publications (www.wlpmusic.com) has been eagerly preparing new and revised musical settings for the Mass. People can view and listen to soundclips of five revised settings and six new settings at www.SingTheNewMass.com. Print Editions of these settings are now available to order, with digital download “Click & Print” editions being prepared for release in the near future. Additional settings from WLP are also in the works, including a contemporary-styled Mass by composer Ed Bolduc, Mass of St. Ann. www.SingTheNewMass.com also includes information and links to additional resources designed to help parishes prepare for the new translation.
Composers of the new Mass settings available on the site include: Steven R. Janco, Richard Proux, Scott Soper, Lisa Stafford, Steve C. Warner, and Karen Schneider Kirner. Revised settings of currently published Masses include: Mass of Redemption (Janco), Mass for Christian Unity (Vermulst), People’s Mass (Vermulst), Sing Praise and Thanksgiving (Joncas), and Misa Luna (Kolar).
Music directors who wish to view each of the new and revised settings all in one book can call WLP Customer Care 1.800.566.6150 and ask for “Musical Settings of the Mass,” fondly referred to as “The Green Book.” A CD recording is included.
